Manchester United seem to be making a lot of noise in the January transfer window without necessarily making any moves so far in the market. The club may have their hands tied after the blockbuster summer that they had.

Back in the summer, the Red Devils signed Matthijs de Ligt, Noussair Mazraoui, Manuel Ugarte, Joshua Zirkzee and Leny Yoro. All players have featured to varying degrees and have had varying degrees of success so far.

News – Done – Man United agree £34.3million worth deal to sign with OT star

There are a number of players in the squad that Ruben Amorim doesn’t seem to be counting on and one would assume that the Portuguese tactician will be looking to perform a club clear out in the days, weeks or months to come.

Now, as per L’Equipe, Man Utd have initiated contact to sign Napoli superstar, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, and are willing to offer an exchange deal that would see club academy graduate Marcus Rashford go the other way.

The Napoli star is valued at around £90m and it would be a momentous signing for the Red Devils to pull-off.

However, adding Marcus Rashford to the deal could help sweeten it. That said, one wonders how much the Englishman is worth.

Accoriding Ben Jacobs, the record English champions want at least £40m from the sale of the Three Lions star. So, Man Utd have to pay cash with the player to sign Kvaratskhelia.

Rashford was destined for greatness in a Manchester United jersey but his career has stalled in recent seasons. Since Ruben Amorim’s arrival, he has been completely sidelined and it looks like his Red Devils career is over.

It remains to be seen what the future holds for Rashford and if Khvicha is a realistic target for Man Utd. Right now, it is too early to take a call on this and let’s wait and see how it plays out in the weeks to come.
