However, following the 4-0 victory over Everton, the Portuguese boss said that everything wasn’t right at the club and a storm would arrive. It didn’t take long for the storm to come as United lost the next game against Arsenal.

Now, Man Utd have lost five out of the last six games in the domestic competitions and Amorim’s predicted storm has made United’s chance of finishing in the top-four in the Premier League bleak.
The Red Devils are currently 14th in the league table and it seems that they can’t rely on the current group of players to turn the situation around. So, a complete rebuild is needed and first and foremost they must hire a new LWB.
They are seemingly planning to do exactly that as they have been linked with a few left-sided defenders ahead of the January window. Now, French outlet, RMC Sport state that Man Utd are keen on purchasing PSG's Nuno Mendes and have already moved in with a proposal to get the deal done.
The 22-year-old's existing deal at the Parc des Princes will expire in 2026 and Les Parisiens want to keep hold of him by tying him down to a fresh term.
However, the player doesn’t want to sign an extension as he isn’t happy with the proposal he has been offered.
PSG don’t want to let him leave next month but could be open to cashing-in at the end of this season if he doesn’t extend his deal. It has been reported that Luis Enrique’s side want around £58m.
Mendes won the Liga Portugal title with Sporting back in 2021 under Amorim. After joining the Les Parisiens, he has won the Ligue 1 title every year, but this season, the defender has been in and out of the squad under Enrique.
He has scored twice and registered as many assists in the current campaign, moreover, he has provided four assists in six appearances for Portugal in the Nations League.
