Manchester United have had a difficult start to the new season under Erik ten Hag.

The Dutch coach has struggled to get results after being backed by a solid transfer market by the ownership and his future could be in limbo.

This, however, doesn’t stop the Red Devils from being linked with a number of players as potential transfer targets for the future. One player on the radar of Manchester United, as per Team Talk, is versatile RB Salzburg defender, Amar Dedic.

Dedic has a contract with the RB club until 2027. He is very adaptable in defense and can play at right-back, left-back and center-back. He has made 15 appearances across all competitions this season, providing three assists.

Diogo Dalot is almost exclusively playing as a left-back for Manchester United these days, with the non-stop injury issues to Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia. This leaves Noussair Mazraoui as the only option for the right-back spot.

However, the Moroccan who just signed for the club back in the summer has undergone precautionary surgery for palpitations in the heart. Mazraoui is expected to return without any hassles but this raises concerns about squad depth.

The Austrian club want a fee of around £23.4m to sell the player. Signing Amar Dedic would give Manchester United the chance to kill three birds with one stone, considering he can play and provide cover anywhere across the backline.

Only time will tell if Manchester United make a concrete effort to sign Dedic. It could all come down to how Shaw and Malacia return from injury and the Red Devils have until January to make a decision.
