Manchester United have just entered a new era under Ruben Amorim. The Portuguese tactician arrived in Carrington earlier today and took charge on his first day as the head coach.
Amorim comes to Old Trafford with huge expectations, following his excellent work with Sporting CP in the Portuguese league. The 39-year-old tactician is likely to field a 3-4-3 formation, one that he has used for the majority of his time with his former club.
News – Man Utd believe £50million star will be the perfect Amorim signing – Report
The new manager will undoubtedly come in with new ideas and want to bring in new players to the club.
As per L’Equipe, Man Utd are plotting a shock deal to sign talented Chelsea playmaker Christopher Nkunku who doesn’t get much game time with the Blues.
The Frenchman has almost always been used by Enzo Maresca in the UEFA Conference League, only getting minutes off the bench late during games.
This is evidenced by the fact that he is the Blues’ top goal scorer across all competitions this season but only one of them have come in the Premier League.
The £195,000 a week star is way too talented to not be playing week in week out. Coming to Manchester United would give him the chance to be a star man in attack for Ruben Amorim and he can play anywhere in front three in the manager’s 3-4-3 formation.
He struggled through much of last season with injuries, but has returned in some form this season. His performances in the Conference League, despite against slightly weaker opposition show that he can get back to the levels that he showed before his transfer to Chelsea.
Should Man Utd sign Christopher Nkunku, it would be a great coup for the club. The Frenchman will want to be at a place where he gets regular game time and this would also help him earn a prominent place in Didier Deschamps’ international setup. Let’s wait and see how this transfer saga plays out.
