There hasn’t been a lot to smile about from a Man Utd perspective in the past few seasons but the emergence of Kobbie Mainoo has been one of the biggest pluses.
The English wonderkid has established himself as one of the biggest midfield prospects in Europe.

At such a young age, the teenage sensation has established himself as a regular starter for Erik ten Hag’s side. His impact in the past few months speaks for itself and it is only justified that the Englishman was called up to the Euros squad by Gareth Southgate.
As per Sky Sports, Man Utd are preparing new contract talks to propose to Kobbie Mainoo to extend his current deal and give him a wage bump. His current deal at Old Trafford is due to expire in 2027.
Reliable Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has also confirmed Man Utd’s internal discussions over a new contract for Mainoo as quoted by the Here We Go podcast:
“Manchester United internally are already preparing this new contract proposal, because they want Kobbie Mainoo to be one of the faces of the new era of INEOS.”
The Sun claim that Mainoo is currently earning around £20,000 a week and United are willing to quadruple his wages which could see the the 19-year-old earn around £80,000 a week once he signs a new contract.
Mainoo is one of the biggest stars coming out of Carrington in recent times and Man Utd will know the importance of making him the face of their project. Thus, it comes as no surprise that Dan Ashworth & co. want to offer him a new deal.
It remains to be seen how the future pans out for Mainoo. If he continues developing in the same regard, he could become one of the very best in the world in his position and let’s wait and see how he goes about it in the future.
