Antony will travel to Spain on Friday in order to complete his loan move to Real Betis while Manchester United are preparing a new bid for Patrick Dorgu.
United reached an agreement with Betis this week over a loan deal for Antony for the remainder of the season but the Brazilian winger was on the bench for the 2-1 win over Rangers in the Europa League on Thursday evening.
According to Spanish outlet ABC, the move was delayed due to negotiations between United and Antony’s representatives, while Ruben Amorim had not given the green light for the 24-year-old to leave his squad.
It’s understood that all issues have now been resolved and Amorim has approved the deal, which means Antony has been given the go-ahead to travel to Seville to finalise his move to Betis.
Antony will not arrive in enough time to play in Betis’ La Liga match against Mallorca on Saturday but the Spanish club are hopeful that the winger could make his debut against Athletic Bilbao on February 2.
Betis currently sit 12th in La Liga and are out of the Copa del Rey after their 5-1 defeat to Barcelona last week.
Antony will be aiming to rediscover his form in Spain having struggled to make an impact at United following his move from Ajax in a €100 million (£85.6m) deal in 2022.
Meanwhile, United are set to submit a new offer to sign Lecce’s versatile wide player Patrick Dorgu.
United saw their initial offer of €27m (£22.8m) rejected as Lecce continue to hold out for a €40m (£33.8m) fee.
Dorgu is in his second season with Lecce following his €200,000 (£175,000) move from Danish side FC Nordsjaelland in 2022.
The 20-year-old is capable of playing on both flanks and is viewed as a player who would be a strong fit for Ruben Amorim’s system.
Napoli, who have held extensive talks with United over a deal for Alejandro Garnacho this month, are also targeting Dorgu.
