Manchester United player flying out to secure exit – Signature and then announcement imminent
Today at 03:16 AM
Real Betis have made firm progress in their efforts to sign Manchester United’s Antony in the winter market.
In the past few hours, the Andalusian club have agreed a deal with the Red Devils for loan without a purchase option.
That’s according to Monday’s edition of AS, who state the La Liga side will cover part of the Manchester United player’s salary.
ABC Sevilla, who have been covering this move for weeks, report the Spanish club are in the final stages of the operation and provide more on the agreement.
They explain the deal has been agreed between the two clubs and Antony only has to sign the contract to complete the transfer.
Real Betis will pay part of his salary [less than 50%] and Manchester United have inserted a ‘penalty clause’ if the 24-year-old doesn’t play a series of matches. This is done so that the loan spell would be beneficial for Antony and the Red Devils.
Real Betis hope to complete the Brazilian’s signing today and the newspaper states Ruben Amorim’s side have asked them to complete the operation on Monday, after the defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday.
ABC Sevilla haven’t explained why Manchester United want Antony’s temporary exit to go through today. He’s convinced of joining Real Betis, after a call with Manuel Pellegrini last week.
The report claims Villarreal tried to snatch Antony from Real Betis’ clutches by offering an improved deal, but he only wanted to join Pellegrini’s side.
EFE Deportes also state Real Betis have agreed a deal with Manchester United to take the Brazilian on loan until the end of this season. They add Antony ‘plans to travel to Seville in the next few hours’.
