Manchester United are preparing for a busy summer transfer window.

A marquee striker could be prioritised due to the club’s struggles in the Premier League. The Red Devils have netted only 38 goals after 32 games this campaign.

A versatile attacker could be another target for manager Ruben Amorim. We believe the club should pursue a deal for Bournemouth sensation Antoine Semenyo.

The Red Devils are reportedly front-runners to sign the winger, and journalist David Ornstein has also admitted that Amorim is very fond of the Ghanaian forward.

In our view, the 25-year-old would be a clear upgrade on Antony, who is currently on loan at Real Betis, having failed to adapt to the demands of the Premier League.

Antony had a bright start to his United career with three goals from as many outings but managed just nine goals and five assists from his next 93 appearances.

The Brazilian has looked out of depth in English football. Antony has found form in Spain with eight goal contributions for Betis. United should cut their losses on him.

Atletico Madrid are among clubs monitoring Antony and it has been reported that the Red Devils are confident of securing at least £40 million for a summer transfer.

In that case, United should utilise the funds to pursue Semenyo, who has bagged 10 goals and six assists from 37 appearances for Bournemouth this campaign.

The winger can comfortably play on the left and right wing. He is a two-footed footballer and has attempted almost an equal number of shots with both feet.

Semenyo has also impressed with other attributes. He has won almost seven duels per league game and has been brilliant with his dribbling. He has completed two take-ons per outing.

The Ghanaian would be an ideal signing for Amorim. He could feature as a wide number 10 too.

The Cherries could reportedly demand £65m upfront for his services. United should be able to afford him if they can recoup £40m from Antony’s early departure.
