Manchester United signed Leny Yoro from Lille in the summer window and gave him a contract until 2029, with an option for another year.

Real Madrid showed keen interest in the centre-back but refused to pay more to secure his services. The Red Devils reportedly offered over €60m for the 19-year-old, who is considered one of the best young defensive talents in Europe.

The defender picked up an injury in pre-season and had to wait until December to make his Manchester United debut. He’s made five appearances so far and that includes one league start against Nottingham Forest.

Yoro has been speaking to Téléfoot in France about his decision to join Manchester United and they took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share a small snippet.

“No regrets about joining Manchester United,” he said.

Le10 Sport have relayed more comments made by the France U23 international on his move to the Premier League side. He explained Manchester United have helped him fulfil his dream of playing in England.

“In my head, I’d set my sights on playing abroad because that’s something I’ve always been attracted to, especially the Premier League. It’s every footballer’s dream,” Yoro explained.

His compatriot, Raphaël Varane, left Manchester United at the end of last season and announced his retirement in September. Yoro had held talks with the 31-year-old over joining the Premier League side.

“I spoke to Varane, who gave me a lot of advice, whether in sport, in life or in this choice. And he had a lot to say,” he added.
