Manchester United players must prove to their teammate Christian Eriksen that he is wrong about his concerns about the dressing room mentality.
Manchester United midfielder Christian Eriksen is a senior member of the Red Devils' dressing room and came out last week and criticised his teammates after a 1-1 draw with FC Twente.
The former Tottenham Hotspur star stated in the post-match interview that he believed FC Twente wanted it more than some of his teammates.
For Manchester United supporters it is a big concern to hear this and does not ease the fans' emotions heading into a big week with trips to FC Porto and Aston Villa.
It has been a poor start to the season with Manchester United currently 13th in the Premier League with the Red Devils looking for their first win in the Europa League against Porto this evening.
Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag is taking a lot of criticism with pressure mounting on the former Ajax boss.
When results go bad it always falls on the manager but there has to be concern about the dressing room.
Manchester United must show the desire Christian Eriksen doesn't see
Heading into tonight's Porto clash at the Estadio do Dragao, the Manchester United players must showcase an energetic performance.
Supporters understand that confidence is low but will not accept lowering standards of effort and determination.
Understandably, the Red Devils will lose games but the standards of performance have been woeful and unacceptable.
Ten Hag will ultimately lose his job if results continue the way they are, however, the players have to show the hunger to turn results around and prove that there is a process that INEOS can stick to.
It is a big test in Portugal this evening, but it is a great opportunity for the United stars to show their intent and prove to the fans that they have the hunger to improve.
