On January 3rd, we covered claims from Paraguay which said Cerro Porteño’s Diego León will soon travel to England to carry out medical examinations with Manchester United.
Earlier claims have stated the Red Devils have outlined a deal for the 17-year-old’s transfer.
Versus report the left-back will travel to England on Saturday to ‘finalise details’ of his move to Manchester United and visit their facilities.
The youngster will undergo a medical with Manchester United, who will then make the deal official, after which he will return to Cerro Porteño. That’s because the Premier League side won’t be able to register him until he turns 18 years of age in April.
Versus state the plan is for him to spend the first half of this year at the Paraguayan club and join Manchester United for pre-season in the summer.
Over at La Nación, they state León will be accompanied by his agent and a Cerro Porteño director for his trip to England on Saturday.
The Paraguay U17 intentional will carry out medical tests and get to know the Red Devils’ facilities as the ‘first step in his adaptation process’.
They state the teenager will only be able to register with Manchester United once he turns 18 in April, meaning Ruben Amorim’s side have to wait until next season for him to arrive at Old Trafford.
According to La Nación, the English club will pay $5m plus bonuses to Cerro Porteño for León.
