Manchester United have a number of players in the squad they seem open to selling.
Ruben Amorim is looking to rebuild the team and find a way to shape a it in a way that fits into his 3-4-3 system and this could mean a few sales.
News – Man Utd seriously consider moving to sign £16.8m striker – Report
One of the players who might be let go of, despite being thought very high of during the initial days is Alejandro Garnacho.
The forward hasn’t really convinced Amorim so far, with the Portuguese tactician even dropping him for the Manchester derby.
Garnacho broke through into the first team and was expected to be one of the stars of the new project, under Erik ten Hag back then, but it is safe to say that the Argentinian’s development seems to have stalled in recent months.
Now, Napoli are said to be interested in signing the Man Utd youngster, and as per Corriere del Mezzogiorno (press image below), Alejandro Garnacho is valued at around £58.8m.
However, a £42m offer from the Italians would make ‘inroads’ to sign the player, perhaps on loan with an obligation to make the move permanent in the summer.
In 30 appearances across all competitions so far this season, Garnacho has scored eight goals and provided five assists. Those numbers are definitely not bad by any stretch of the imagination but maybe, more is expected of him.
That said, this could also prove to be a financial decision by the club considering how strict the FFP rules are these days.
Garnacho is an academy product and selling him could earn the club significant pure profit, that helps balance the books.
Now, it remains to be seen where the future lies of Garnacho. He still has a role to play in the current squad and selling him might not make a wise decision. What do you think?
