Manchester United know better than any club how it feels when their manager shows a keen interest in signing former players.
Erik ten Hag during his time at Old Trafford signed so many former Ajax players with middling success.

Now, Ruben Amorim is also coming from a European team who have one of the most talented squads going around. Thus, it comes as no surprise to seeing Manchester United linked with a number of Sporting CP players.
One player who has been continually linked with an Old Trafford move for quite the past few weeks is Viktor Gyokeres. The talk of the town following his incredible start to the season and his hattrick against Manchester City, there is hope that Amorim can convince the Swedish striker to come to Old Trafford.
Now, as per The Daily Briefing, Man Utd are now ready to submit an offer to sign Viktor Gyokeres. The player is valued at around £58.2m and Sporting CP have an agreement to let him leave for that fee next summer.
Gyokeres’ stats so far this season look incredible. In 18 games across all competitions, he has scored 23 goals and provided four assists.
He has also shown that he can do it at the highest level in the Champions League against the big teams.
At 26, Gyokeres is at the perfect age as a striker for a top club in Europe to sign him. The Swedish striker sooner, rather than later, will want to be playing for the elite in Europe and the question is whether he fancies the project at United.
New Man Utd boss, Amorim, had an incredible time at Sporting CP with Viktor Gyokeres but might want to build his system around Rasmus Hojlund at Old Trafford.
In your opinion, should Man Utd splash the cash to lure the Swede?
