A group of furious Manchester United fans were filmed ambushing co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe in the wake of the side’s 1-0 win at Fulham, telling him he was ‘worse than the Glazers’ for the club’s ticket pricing.

The Red Devils came away from Craven Cottage with all three points thanks to Lisandro Martinez’s deflected strike in the 78th minute and the result saw Ruben Amorim’s men rise to 12th in the Premier League table.

United were comfortably beaten at home to Brighton in their previous contest and the victory takes some of the pressure off Amorim after an immensely difficult start to life as head coach.

However, there remains an undercurrent of unhappiness among supporters regarding the situation off the pitch, with the cheapest single match ticket available at Old Trafford this season standing at £66 following a recent price hike – the highest in the entire Premier League.

Chelsea, Everton and Fulham are the only teams who force fans to shell out £50 or more for their cheapest single match tickets.

Considering United’s fall from grace in the post-Sir Alex Ferguson era, the club’s ticket pricing has become increasingly difficult to justify in recent years and these frustrations were clear to see following Sunday’s clash in west London.

In a short clip which has gone viral on social media, Ratcliffe appears to be making his way out of Fulham’s stadium in the back of a car, only to be confronted by some rather angry supporters.

’66 f***ing quid?! 66 quid, mate? Are you taking the p***? We’re northerners! Come on, mate, sort it out!’ Ratcliffe is told.

‘Worse than the Glazers! Sort it out, you c***!

‘F*** you, Jim Ratcliffe. F*** you.’

On a recent episode of The Overlap, club legend Paul Scholes slammed United’s ‘ridiculous’ ticket pricing and accused Ratcliffe of ‘not caring’ about fans.

‘They have been in charge for nearly a year now and everything is still negative,’ the former United and England midfielder said.

‘I can't think of something positive that they've done for the football club.

‘Things are getting worse on the football pitch so couldn't they have just said that they would do cheaper tickets – couldn't they just give us something positive?

‘How can you ask Manchester United fans to pay more money with what is on the football pitch?

‘£66 for a ticket is ridiculous. If you think of Manchester, there are so many deprived areas.

‘Sir Jim Ratcliffe himself is from Failsworth, which is a deprived area.

‘If you take one kid with you, that is £120, if you take a family, you are looking at £300-400 – it is just not right.’

Scholes added: ‘Where do these owners get the front to put ticket prices up? For the value, we're probably having our worst ever Premier League season and they've got the cheek to put the prices up.

‘There is nothing positive happening with that football club. The team look bang average. They are not doing anything for fans.

‘If we have got Sir Jim Ratcliffe, compared to all these American owners, who has been a United fan since growing up in an area in Manchester – he is still hiking prices up.

‘It just shows that they don't care.’

With fears growing that there may be another price hike to come next season, fans have made their voices known at Old Trafford and ‘stop exploiting loyalty’ banners have been commonplace at the Theatre of Dreams.

Ratcliffe has been eager to cut costs where possible since his partial 27.7 per cent takeover of the club 12 months ago and was recently dubbed ‘Scrooge’ after staff saw their £100 Christmas bonus replaced by a £40 Marks and Spencer voucher.

The British billionaire faced heavy criticism in October after deciding to bring an end to Ferguson’s ambassadorial contract at the club.

There was also uproar last summer when 250 jobs were cut by United, saving the club a reported £10million a year, while senior executives have had club credit cards taken away.
