Transfer expert – Man Utd plot shock swap deal to sign £42.7million forward

Centre-forward has been an area of concern for Manchester United over the last few years. They splashed big money to sign Romelu Lukaku from Everton but he couldn’t cope with the pressure of playing for the Red Devils.

After letting the Belgian leave, former manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer opted to keep faith in Anthony Martial but he struggled with injury problems before leaving the club ahead of this season.

Erik ten Hag purchased Rasmus Hojlund from Atalanta for £72m but the Dane hasn’t been able to showcase his qualities at Old Trafford.

Joshua Zirkzee was hired last summer to add depth in the striker position but the Dutchman has found it difficult to settle down in his new surroundings.

He was woeful against Newcastle last time out and was taken off before the interval. The Old Trafford crowd even applauded his departure so his future is currently uncertain at the club.

Now, speaking on Radio Radio, transfer expert, Enrico Camelio says that Man Utd are plotting to sell Zirkzee in a shock swap deal to sign Juventus forward, Dusan Vlahovic.

The former Bayern forward showcased his best form under Thiago Motta at Bologna ,hence reuniting with his former coach at the Bianconeri could be a tempting prospect for the Dutchman. Camelio said:

"There is an idea of an exchange between Vlahovic and Zirkzee, let’s see how the situation evolves. The idea is plausible, the Dutchman would find the coach who consecrated him again."

Juventus are reportedly interested in luring the former Bologna star, while Man Utd hold a long-term interest in £42.7million-rated Vlahovic as they were keen on signing him last summer.

Zirkzee has started only seven Premier League matches thus far this season after joining from the Rossoblu last summer so giving up on the youngster this early is a bit of a shock.

On the other hand, it would be even more shocking if Juventus consider such a swap as Vlahovic has been in fine form, scoring 12 goals in 22 appearances in all competitions thus far this season. Why would they want to lose him.
