Manchester United are reportedly very keen on signing Sunderland midfielder Jude Bellingham in the upcoming year.

The middle of the park is an area of the pitch United are eager to strengthen, especially amidst the uncertain future of Christian Eriksen and Casemiro.

Both United stars continue to be linked to exits in the near future and if they leave, they’ll almost certainly need to be replaced. Combine this with Mason Mount’s persistent injury struggles and it makes sense why the Red Devils are keen on midfield reinforcements.

Some of the midfielders mentioned to be on the radar of Ruben Amorim’s side include Dani Olmo (Barcelona), Arthur Vermeeren (RB Leipzig), Daba Diakite (Djoliba AC), Ederson (Atalanta), and Christopher Nkunku (Chelsea), among others.

Now, UtdDistrict reveal that United are plotting a swoop for Jobe Bellingham, the younger brother of Real Madrid superstar Jude Bellingham.

According to the news outlet, “Manchester United are interested in signing Jude Bellingham's younger brother Jobe in the next year after the teenager impressed the club's recruitment staff.”

“United have been keeping tabs on the Championship starlet at Sunderland and he has impressed the club's recruitment staff.”

“It would be unlikely that a mid-season move is struck, especially due to United's well-reported preference to sign a left wingback in January.”

Jobe Bellingham has made 20 Championship appearances so far, scoring four goals and providing three assists in that period.

It’s been suggested that the 19-year-old could cost around £20 million.

United missed out on signing his older brother in 2020 when he chose to join Borussia Dortmund. Now, the 20-time English champions appear to have an opportunity to bring his sibling on board.

It remains uncertain whether Jobe Bellingham would be willing to make the leap from the Stadium of Light and become the newest addition to United’s squad.

Meanwhile, United return to action on Monday when they host Newcastle at Old Trafford. Kick-off is at 20:00 GMT.
