Unthinkable relegation would be even more calamitous for Man United due to a stipulation

With Manchester United shockingly being drawn into a relegation scrap, a report reveals that the consequences would be even more catastrophic due to a lack of a contractual clause.
While this topic would have seemed inconceivable not so long ago, Ruben Amorim himself admitted that he and his players must fight to remain in England's top flight and avoid an earth-chattering demotion to the Championship.
The Portuguese tactician was brought in following Erik ten Hag's sacking in October to steady the ship, and yet, the club continues to sink deeper and deeper, with the fans wondering just whether they have already reached rock bottom, or is there yet another low they've yet to endure.
Well, based on the club's recent form, plumetting further down the table remains possible. The Red Devils currently sit 14th in the Premier League table, but only Southampton have registered worse results since Amorim first landed on English soil. Hence why the shadow of relegation is no longer a taboo in the halls of Carrington, at least based on Amorim's recent statements.
And while no Man United had ever thought he'd see his beloved United embroiled in a relegation dogfight, neither did the hierarchy as evidenced by the contracts negotiated with the players.
Man United contracts don't include relegation clause
According to The Telegraph, Man Utd didn't include any relegation clauses in their player contracts. So this means that their stars would still be able to enjoy their lucrative wages without any deductions even if the club ends up playing in the Championship next season. That is of course unless they manage to offload them or secure new agreements with them.
Hence, relegation would certainly be catastrophic for the already financially struggling Red Devils, as they certainly won't be able to afford their hefty wage bill amidst the lack of the lucrative EPL prize money (not even with Sir Jim Ratcliffe's Christmas bonus cuts).
On the other hand, the contracts includ a 25% deduction in case they fail to qualify for the Champions League, but the fallen giants obviously have more things to worry about at this stage than missing out on European football next term.
