"We're keeping an eye on...": Serie A chief makes big transfer admission about United star amid January exit rumours

Juventus director Cristiano Giuntoli has conceded they’re on the lookout for any interesting transfer opportunities when asked whether or not they want Manchester United forward Joshua Zirkzee.
Zirkzee has endured a troubling time at United since he sealed a £36million move to the club in the summer.
He scored on his Premier League debut against Fulham but since then, the Netherlands international has failed to kick on, only netting an additional three goals across all competitions.
The former Bologna man was brutally taken off in the first half of United’s 2-0 defeat against Newcastle on Monday. He was said to be almost in tears after Ruben Amorim’s shock decision to withdraw him.
Zirkzee has already been offered an escape route from Old Trafford, with the likes of Napoli and Juventus thought to be keen on signing him during the ongoing January transfer window.
A return to Bologna has also been mooted but it seems that the strongest interest in his services is coming from Juventus, where an opportunity to link up with his ex-Bologna coach Thiago Motta awaits.
A recent report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that the Serie A giants want to do a loan deal with an option to buy Zirkzee at the end of the campaign. United would prefer a straight sale as they’re in desperate need of selling unwanted players to generate money to spend on new signings.
Juventus director Giuntoli is aiming to bolster the club’s squad this month and was asked about Zirnzee.
He responded [as quoted by Football Italia], “Zirkzee? It's not appropriate to mention names.”
“But we are keeping an eye on any interesting opportunities, and we will move to strengthen the defence.”
It’s been suggested that despite having admirers in Italy, Zirkzee wants to stay at United and fight for his place under Amorim.
Zirkzee and his teammates are back in action this weekend when they face Arne Slot’s Liverpool at Anfield.
