It'd be hard to see Isaak go, but you never know.

Newcastle United remain active in scouting potential strikers this summer, even as they maintain their stance on keeping Alexander Isak in tow for the long run.

Chief executive Darren Eales made it clear in his recent media briefing that the club's key players are under long-term contracts, reinforcing their position against selling Isak. However, Newcastle's recruitment team continues to assess alternatives in case circumstances change.

Craig Hope of the Daily Mail reports that Ipswich's Liam Delap has emerged as a potential target. The 22-year-old, who has scored 10 goals this season, is being closely monitored by Newcastle, though competition for his signature would be strong. Chelsea are considered frontrunners if Ipswich are relegated, while Manchester United have also had their scout, Simon Wells, assess Delap this season.

Newcastle scouting chief Steve Nickson has also observed Lille's Jonathan David and RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko. Sesko has long been on the club's radar, with admiration for the Slovenian striker existing inside St. James' Park for some time.

While the preference remains for Isak to stay, with contract talks set to be revisited in the summer, sporting director Paul Mitchell and his team are ensuring they are prepared for any developments.
