Newcastle United fans are dreaming of silverware once again following their outstanding run of form this season.
Since acquiring new owners in 2021, manager Eddie Howe, backed by a large transfer kitty, has turned the famous old club into one of the best teams in the country.
But exactly who owns Newcastle and when was the last time they won a trophy?
Here is everything you need to know.
Who owns Newcastle and how much are they worth?
The Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund (PIV) owns an 80% stake in Newcastle, having led the investment group which purchased the club off Mike Ashley for £300 million in October 2021.
The PIV is the sovereign wealth fund of Saudi Arabia, and with total estimated assets of around £320 billion, it is one of the largest in the world.
The wealth fund was set up in 1971 to invest money on behalf of the government, and has been controlled by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, de facto ruler of Saudi Arabia, since 2015.
PCP Capital Partners and RB Sports and Media both have a 10% share in the club.
The wealth of the PIV makes Newcastle comfortably the richest football club in the world, ahead of Premier League rivals Manchester City, whose owner Sheikh Mansour is thought to be worth around £16.8 billion.
When was the last time Newcastle won a trophy?
Technically speaking, the last trophy Newcastle won was the Championship in the 2016/17 season under Rafael Benitez.
Newcastle also lifted the Intertoto Cup in 2006 and the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup in 1968/69, although these are not considered major titles.
As such, their last major trophy was the FA Cup in the 1954/55 season, which saw them lift the iconic trophy for the sixth time after being Manchester City 3-1 in the final at Wembley.

The last time the Magpies won the First Division was in 1926/27, following their previous victories in the 1904/05, 1906/07 and 1908/09 seasons.
Newcastle’s best result in the Premier League has been the runners-up spot in 1995/96 and 1996/97, finishing behind Manchester United on both occasions.
The club have never won the League Cup, with just one runners-up spot to their name in 1975/96, whilst their only Community Shield triumph was all the way back in 1909.
