Goals from Yankuba Minteh, Kaoru Mitoma and Georginio Rutter secured all three points for Fabian Hurzeler’s side.

Bruno Fernandes had equalised for United from the penalty spot before the match was taken away from them in the second half.

Following the final whistle, Brighton’s high spirits and jubilant scenes were carried into the Old Trafford tunnel from the pitch.

In a video shared to the Brighton’s social media channels, Baleba could be seen dancing as he made his way towards the dressing room.

The 21-year-old midfielder performed ‘the griddy’ by tapping his heels and swinging his arms back and forth for the camera.

A dejected Fernandes walked behind the Cameroon international as he smiled after completing the celebration.

Baleba had started for the visitors, playing the vast majority of the game before he was replaced by debutant Diego Gomez in stoppage time.

Hurzeler kept the former Lille man on despite the fact he was booked just 21 minutes into the match.

The decision paid off with Baleba helping inspire the Seagulls to a historic win over the Red Devils.

Brighton have now won their last three Premier League trips to Old Trafford, becoming only the second side to do so.

United’s bitter rivals Manchester City have twice achieved the same feat.

Meanwhile, the Red Devils have also lost six of their last seven league meetings with Sunday’s opponents.

Their latest defeat leaves Ruben Amorim’s side 13th in the table following a tenth loss from their opening 22 matches.

As for Brighton, they are ninth and just four points off the Champions League places with 16 matches still to play.
