Andreas Pereira has hinted a potential departure from Fulham after addressing his summer transfer speculation.
The attacking midfielder, who signed for the Cottagers in 2022, was reportedly of interest to Premier League rivals Nottingham Forest.
Pereira has since remained at Craven Cottage and started in all 12 of their league games so far this season, scoring one goal.
However, the Brazilian has revealed an ambition to play for Marseille and their manager Roberto De Zerbi after they made an approach.
“From outside [England], there was an offer from Marseille, we talked, and unfortunately it didn’t work out,” he told Premier League Brasil.
“In the last few days [of the transfer window], there was also an offer from Nottingham Forest. Those were the clubs that came closest to signing [me], but there was a lot of interest [from others].”
“Since I was on vacation, I was in more contact with him [his agent, Giuliano Bertolucci],” he added. “But he always lets me know.
“He tells me, ‘Look, there’s a club interested, let’s see what happens.'”
When reflecting on the interest from Ligue 1 side Marseille, Pereira said: “It would be really cool [to go to Marseille] because of the way De Zerbi plays football.
“I was looking forward to it, but we’ll see now in January or at the end of the season if there will be a transfer or if I’ll stay at Fulham.”
He also said: “Sometimes, I see something and I go excitedly to talk to him [Bertolucci], ‘Is this happening and you don’t know about it?’ And he says no. I think, ‘Wow, it’s complicated.'”
Pereira signed for Fulham after an 11-year spell at Manchester United but only made 75 appearances for the senior side.
His move to west London has offered more regular football, with the 28-year-old featuring 94 times for the club in all competitions.
Marco Silva clearly trusts in Pereira although it remains to be seen if he will remain at the club given his comments.
Fulham are ninth in the Premier League table and only four points outside of the top four.
They face a difficult festive period though as Tottenham, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool are some of their upcoming opponents.
