Ruben Amorim is set to lose at least one of his Manchester United stars next summer, according to reports.

The new Red Devils boss took charge of his first training session on Monday after arriving at the club last week.

Meanwhile, his first match as manager will come away to Ipswich on Sunday afternoon.

And Amorim’s attention may already be turning to the transfer market, though, ahead of both the January and summer windows.

As far as outgoings are concerned, at least one player will be leaving Old Trafford next summer.

Journalist Fabrizio Romano reports that Christian Eriksen is expected to depart when his contract expires at the end of June.

No negotiations are currently taking place over an extension for the 32-year-old midfielder.

The report adds, however, that Amorim’s opinion on Eriksen’s future will be taken into consideration.

Eriksen is one of six United players currently out of contract next summer, including Harry Maguire and Amad Diallo.

He joined the Red Devils on a free transfer from Brentford back in 2022, signing a three-year deal.

The former Tottenham man has yet to score or assist in eight Premier League appearances this term, though.

However, he has contributed four goals and three assists in 13 matches across all competitions.

Eriksen was absent from Amorim’s first training session on Monday due to his international commitments.

He is part of the Denmark squad for their Nations League trip to Serbia tonight.

Amorim arrived at United last week after being confirmed as Erik ten Hag’s replacement.

Ruud van Nistelrooy had been in interim charge following Ten Hag’s exit as the Portuguese remained at Sporting until the international break.

He has now taken up his new role having penned a deal through to the summer of 2027.
