The Premier League leaders are flying under Arne Slot, winning eight of their opening 10 top-flight games this season.

But Unai Emery continues to work wonders with Villa and they will prove to be a tough challenge at Anfield this weekend.

So, two of the league’s best teams are set to meet and it’s been given a highlight slot for supporters to tune in…

Why is Liverpool vs Aston Villa at 8pm?

Liverpool vs Aston Villa will kick off at 8pm due to TV coverage.

TNT Sports are broadcasting the action in their later slot, meaning this game is taking the place of a 12:30pm start.

So therefore, fans will be forced to wait until 3pm for their first Premier League games of the weekend.

Usually, the latest match on a Saturday would be at 5:30pm.

But things are a little different this weekend and it comes down to the teams’ involvement in Europe.

Two months ago, Liverpool vs Aston Villa was selected for TV broadcast and switched to this kick-off time.

This is because both sides have been in the Champions League action in midweek, meaning they can’t play in the early game on Saturday.

Liverpool beat Bayer Leverkusen 4-0 at Anfield on Tuesday while Villa lost at Club Brugge a day later.

With Villa playing on Wednesday, they could not be schedule for Saturday lunchtime.

TNT Sports typically make the change from their usual 12:30pm start to 8pm when this occurs and the case is the same here.

There has only been one other 8pm Saturday kick-off this season, with that being Chelsea’s 1-0 win at Bournemouth in September.
