Under the lights at the SkyEx Community Stadium, it was the home side who forced two corners in the opening ten minutes or so.

A great run by 15-year-old Kalen Brunson down the left-flank took him past three defenders and resulted in Harrison Chamberlain successfully grabbing the ball.

The first shot on target was provided by the visitors, but Oli Godziemski's effort lacked power. This was followed by trialist (b) being shown a yellow card.

After 24 minutes, Sam Manufor superbly rode two challenges before laying the ball off to James McAvoy, but the move broke down following an interception.

Then, Harry Murphy's low-shot was aimed directly at the keeper.

This was a good period for the R's and on 32 minutes, an excellent ball over to Kalen Brunson, ended up with the U's keeper making a diving save.

Mr Massey-Ellis booked Orlando Bethmann for kicking the ball away, which was later followed on 42 minutes when the R's trialist (a) was cautioned for a blatant tug on an opponent. Half-time: 0-0.

Paul Furlong brought on Jack McDowell at the expense of Rocco Friel for the start of the second-half.

Rashaad Drysdale was the next player to be booked.

After Kalen Brunson had superbly got along the bye-line, the ball was headed over the crossbar.

Two changes were made on 63 minutes, which saw Kyreece Moore and Rohan Vaughan replace Harry Murphy and trialist (b) respectively.

Elkanah Akor was the next U's player to be booked following an awful challenge on Kalen Brunson, which left the young winger in need of some attention.

Rohan Vaughn's cross ended up going for a corner, but few goalscoring attempts were being created by either side.

Lorenzo Strachan came on for Kalen Brunson after 78 minutes.

There was an unnecessary delay when the ball had ended up going down the players tunnel!

Looking like the game would finish goalless, the visitors managed to take the lead in the 90th minute.

Rashaad Drysdale's cross picked out Kaleel Green in the box, and the U's substitute proceeded to squeeze the ball into the bottom corner.

Earlier in the half, Max Jolliffe was the final player to be booked.

I have to say that I was surprised that two trialists were included in a starting line-up for a Premier League Cup tie?
