Following the abandoned game at the SkyEx Community Stadium the previous Sunday, the replayed FA Cup tie got underway in better weather conditions.
Grace Stanley got herself into a one-on-one position before taking the ball round the keeper, but her attempt at goal was stopped by a defender. Courtnay Ward-Chambers was following up and she belted the ball into the side netting.
At the other end a few minutes later, Nikita Whinnett's strike from just outside the box ended up in Nicole Melling's gloves.
A ball out to Annie Dzyadyk resulted with the Rangers winger shooting over the crossbar.
After Nikita Whinnett had fouled Bille Brooks, the Saltdean No.14 fell on top of her, which led to the R's defender requiring some attention.
Rangers took the lead on 38 minutes. Faye Baker had saved Ward-Chambers’ initial attempt, but Grace Stanley was well-placed to tap home the rebound.
The R's doubled their lead a couple of minutes later when Annie Dzyadyk ran on to the ball, before hitting it low into the back of the net.
Courtnay Ward-Chambers almost made it three just before the break, when her powerful long-range strike was well-saved by Faye Baker. Half-time: 2-0.
The home side went further ahead just a few minutes after the restart. Grace Stanley was put through into the box, and the R's striker then belted the ball into the net.
Following a corner, Faye Baker made a superb diving save after Courtnay Ward-Chambers had pulled the trigger from around 20-odd yards.
For the visitors, a long-distance free kick ended up in the roof of the net.
Normal service was then resumed. Faye Baker made a good stop and the follow-up hit Katie McIntyre in the face, who went down in need of some treatment.
After a nice one-two, Courtnay Ward Chambers' ferocious strike from outside the box, bounced off the crossbar.
On 75 minutes, Alana Munro replaced Annie Dyzadyk.
Rangers added a fourth goal with around nine minutes remaining. A great move involving three players concluded with Courtnay Ward-Chambers firing the ball into the net.
There was still time for Grace Stanley to complete her hat-trick, when her attempt from inside the box went in off the keeper.
Three other changes were made after around 83 minutes, which saw the introduction of Izzy Owen, Renai McCrea and Stevie Kennedy, at the expense of Meila D'Santos, Courtnay Ward-Chambers and Grace Stanley respectively.
The R's then went on to face London Bees in the Third Round.
