As Rangers lick their wounds following the penalty kicks Premier Sports Cup Final defeat to Celtic, the club's youth team have done what the men could not.

The Rangers B side overcame Celtic 3-2 to lift the Glasgow Cup in an enthralling encounter which was eventually won by Zak Lovelace.

Philippe Clement was in attendance at Queen's Park's City Stadium with several youngsters catching the Ibrox manager's eye.

Young Northern Irish goalkeeper Mason Munn has already made a big impression on the Belgian and has been training with the first-team this season.

Whilst the highly-rated goalie's progress will have been noted by Clement and Co, the 18-year old will have also impressed the Rangers hierarchy with his comments after the game.

Mason Munn might be young but the Ulsterman knows exactly what it takes to play for Rangers.

Mason Munn on Rangers Final victory

"Just getting over the line is what you need to do in a Final," Mason Munn told the Rangers Review after the game.

"And that's what we done in the end but we did make it difficult for ourselves at time.

"Celtic are a young team, we knew that coming into the game but it wasn't an excuse.

"Coming out of it we knew that we needed to win the game tonight with the team that we had and the starting XI so good that we won, but it's final so it's all you need to do.

"It's an experience. This is things we need to do is to go and experience these games and to win.

"Because at Rangers that's what you need to do, win finals and win big games.

"For us to get an experience of it now at this young age is massive so yeah, it's all good."

Rangers kid on working with Jack Butland

Mason Munn has also been speaking about his time working with Rangers goalkeepers Jack Butland and Liam Kelly this season.

Munn has been in and around the Rangers first-team squad as the Ibrox side look to take a more European approach to bleeding young talent.

Explaining that his progress is all down to hard work and hard work alone, Munn has reflected on his time working with the Rangers stoppers in the men's team.

"Jack (Butland) and Liam (Kelly) are two very experienced guys in the SPFL now," said Munn.

"Liam being at Motherwell for such a long spell and Jack being in England squad playing in the Premier League.

"They both know what it takes so being around them every day and being around the first team and the manager, all those things for me are massive experiences.

"Travelling with the first-team, understanding what it takes to win a game of football, being around the changing room.

"Just loads of different experiences is good for me and I need to keep learning.

"(The advice is) just basic stuff. I think if you asked anybody out on the street what's the takeaway from football, it's just hard work.

"You can have all the talent in the world, you can have all the ability in the world but if you don't work hard you've got no chance.

"That's just part and parcel with the game, you need to work hard to get there."
