£3.5m rated Rangers misfit has 'strong interest' from Ligue 1 after being branded 'not good enough'

Philippe Clement will undergo the second phase of Rangers' rebuild along with Nils Koppen when the January transfer window opens in the coming weeks.
As with in the summer, the manager will need to clear high earners from his squad and make space for new arrivals who are better suited to his plans.
One name who is already attracting attention is Cyriel Dessers with a report from France claiming that Rangers could offload the much-maligned striker.
Cyriel Dessers could make Rangers exit with interest from France
According to Le Republic Sportif, the Nigeria international has "strong interest" from Saint-Etienne, who are currently languishing near the foot of the Ligue 1 table.
The Ibrox outfit are said to value Dessers in the region of £3.5m which, despite the glaring issues, is the going rate for a striker with 47 goal contributions in 80 appearances.
The Premier Sports Cup final was the latest example of why Dessers is a priority in terms of players that need to be moved on.
Despite every player running on empty, the 30-year old still looked like he was running in quick sand and not like a player who had only just come off the bench halfway through extra time.
That, as Rangers No.9, Dessers wasn't one of the penalty takers, only irked supporters even more.
Has Clement had enough of Dessers?
Clement has openly supported Dessers, but it has become clear in recent weeks and, in particular, since the 1-1 draw at home to Dundee Utd when the striker was hooked at half-time, that the Gers boss is far from happy with what he has seen:
"We had some players who performed normal," Clement told Sky Sports after the game.
"But we had some players who were not good enough today.
"Who were not available enough today, who were not brave enough today.
"That's why I made also some changes in half-time with players who had a good impact.
"We need to show much more like what we showed in the second so I'm going to be harsh on that."
The other player who didn't appear after the break on that day was Mohamed Diomande, who learned his lesson and is now in his best form for Rangers, whilst Dessers has been relegated to third choice.
It would appear that Clement has ran out of patience.
