Rangers fans caught a glimpse of one major talent for the first-team this week.

Now another continues to make big strides with the Rangers B team.

Hamza Igamane is the man of the moment at Rangers following another impressive brief cameo against Dundee United over the weekend.

But in Clinton Nsiala, Rangers have another highly-rated young option who was convinced to swap AC Milan for Ibrox earlier in the summer.

The French defender was once again in action for the Rangers B team as they overcame Fraserburgh in an impressive SPFL Trust Trophy victory.

Clinton Nsiala keeps Rangers B clean sheet

Clinton Nsiala started the match as Rangers B overcame Highland League side Fraserburgh FC in the SPFL Trust Trophy.

The 20-year-old centre-back kept a clean sheet too, as Rangers ran out comfortable 5-0 winners at the Forthbank Stadium in Stirling.

Connor Allan opened the scoring on the night, with an own goal doubling the young Gers' lead before Chris Eadie, Calum Adamson and Josh Gentles completed the scoring.

The result puts Rangers B into the Last 16 of the SPFL Trust Trophy with Nsiala playing the entire game.

The match was overshadowed by an injury blow to teenage midfielder Bailey Rice, who was subbed off around ten minutes before half time.

Ianis Hagi Rangers mystery deepens

Whilst Rangers fans will be glad to see Clinton Nsiala get more exposure to the first-team squad, there was one notable absentee from the team.

The situation with Romanian international midfielder Ianis Hagi continues to perplex fans after the 25-year-old playmaker failed to negotiate a summer exit.

Still in the Romania team, Hagi has been involved in the Rangers B team this season but was not included in the starting XI or amongst the substitutes against Fraserburgh.

Instead Rangers opted to start with fallen first-team talent Alex Lowry.

With Hagi insisting that he is ready to contribute to Rangers, the absence will raise eyebrows with discussions ongoing behind the scenes.

Speaking ahead of the weekend's win over Dundee United, Philippe Clement suggested the decision with Ianis Hagi wasn't entirely in his hands.

Hagi reportedly activates a wage increase when he plays his 100th game for Rangers, Ianis currently on 99 appearances for the Gers.

Philippe Clement has been urged to recall Ianis Hagi to the Rangers squad with the situation an ongoing mystery to supporters.
