Nicolas Raskin can do no wrong at the moment after starring for Rangers and the Belgium national team.

Raskin impressed with Belgium during the international break, the 24-year-old midfielder earning his first caps for the country against Ukraine.

It comes after an impressive run of performances at Rangers, with Barry Ferguson branding Raskin the 'driving force' of the Rangers team.

Ahead of the Scottish Premiership clash with Dundee, Kris Boyd and Chris Sutton have been offering their takes on Rangers' golden boy.

Kris Boyd on new Rangers role for Nicolas Raskin

Kris Boyd reckons Rangers' change of system under Barry Ferguson has aided Nicolas Raskin at Ibrox.

Whilst Raskin had been impressive all season long under Philippe Clement, particularly in the Europa League, like all the Rangers players the midfielder has had a jolt in the arm with the introduction of Ferguson.

Ferguson and his backroom staff of Rangers legends have made subtle tweaks with the focus on being more adaptable to the needs of each particular game.

Boyd reckons that a more defined role for Raskin, where he is being asked to play shorter, more concise passes, has played to the midfielder's strengths.

"I don't know if this new role in terms of the way Rangers are playing has maybe suited him a little bit," Boyd told Sky Sports.

"With two players kind of tucked in and it's not longer passes, it just seems to be little shorter ones for him to get it into Cerny, to get it into Diomande who's been the one who has been further forward."

Chris Sutton's Nicolas Raskin 'dampener'

Chris Sutton then offered his two cents on Nicolas Raskin with the Rangers midfielder the man of the moment at Ibrox.

Piggybacking off of Boyd's comments about an adapted role, the former Celtic striker couldn't resist a dig on the Belgian midfielder.

Whilst Sutton was complimentary of the ex-Standard star's 'intelligence', the ex-Parkhead striker questioned the Rangers midfielder's passing range.

"I don't think that he has an unbelievable passing range," Sutton said.

"He's very tenacious. He reads the game very well. We've seen with is movement that he's a really intelligent player.

"That little flick with Diomande, he's a great spotter of space and it'll be interesting to see what'll happen with him in the summer."

Sky Sports host Eilidh Barbour wasn't letting Sutton off the hook with the dig and claimed: "You'd love to put a little dampener on the positivity around Raskin right now."
