Controversial Gers star wanted in Ligue 1 as manager urges him to leave Ibrox ASAP - report

The situation surrounding Romania star Ianis Hagi at Rangers is one which has continued to perplex Ibrox supporters.
Whilst the 26-year-old playmaker continues to prop up the Rangers squad, Hagi completed 90 minutes and produced an assist for his national team against Cyprus.
In an impressive display, Ianis Hagi laid on an assist for a Florinel Coman goal which completed a 4-1 rout to finish off the UEFA Nations League campaign in Bucharest.
But as Rangers fans ask why Ianis Hagi remains out of the picture at Ibrox despite negotiating a return to the first-team, Ligue 1 transfer reports are beginning to swirl.
It comes with Romanian manager Mircea Lucescu urging Hagi to leave Rangers in search of minutes with the situation now set to impact the player's opportunities with the national side.
Ianis Hagi wanted for Ligue 1 loan transfer
According to reports coming out of France which stretch back to October, Ianis Hagi is interesting Ligue 1 side Strasbourg ahead of the January transfer window.
The reports have just been picked up by Romanian media but appear to originate in an 'exclusive' story in French outlet Only Mercato dated October 27th.
The report claims that Strasbourg are 'showing a keen interest' in the Romanian international with Ianis Hagi a loan target for the French club this winter.
But the Ligue 1 side are not the only team interested, with Ianis Hagi's technical ability making him 'an attractive candidate for several European clubs'.
Ianis Hagi has had a complicated few seasons after suffering a devastating cruciate ligament injury in the January of 2022 against Stirling Albion.
After completing a complicated rehab programme, Hagi then pushed for a loan move to Alavés in La Liga last season but failed to secure a permanent exit from Rangers after a disappointing stint in Spain.
The links to Strasbourg come after Rangers reinstated Ianis Hagi to their squad at the beginning of October, only for the playmaker to see red and suffer a two-match suspension on his return v Kilmarnock.
Previously it had been made clear by Hagi, Rangers and the player's representation that a summer exit was the priority although a transfer never materialised.
Romania manager urges Rangers star to leave Ibrox
These Strasbourg reports have appeared at the same time as Ianis Hagi has been urged to move on from Rangers by the Romania national team coach.
Mircea Lucescu was speaking after the 4-1 demolition of Cyprus and claims he has advised the Romanian playmaker to move somewhere he can play more football.
The 79-year-old manager has also indirectly criticised Rangers for failing to properly integrate the player back into the team after renegotiating a wage increase clause in Hagi's contract.
Lucescu then went on to warn Hagi that a failure to secure a more consistent opportunity will eventually impact his minutes with the Romania team.
“Yes, of course I advised (Ianis Hagi)," Lucescu said, as quoted by Digi Sport. "How could I not?
"It’s not the first time. I also told him that I would give him this chance but he has to go to another team where to play effectively. He played well and I congratulate him.
"His contract situation was resolved so he could be reinstated to the first team, but Ianis has not received consistent minutes since then.
"He spent last season at Alaves and still doesn’t seem to have secured a place in Rangers’ starting line-up.”
