Rangers fans are still awaiting the club’s first deal of the January transfer window.

Unlike last year when Fabio Silva was announced even before the window opened, Gers chiefs are still to land their first player of the month.

A busy month is expected though and it shouldn’t be long before things start to ramp up.

Plenty of names have been mentioned in terms if incomings and outgoings already and here Rangers News brings you the latest updates.

Fiorentina door appears to close for Hagi

Rangers fans will be desperate to keep hold of Ianis Hagi after his Old Firm masterclass. The playmaker has been brilliant since his return to the side and capped it all with a starring display and goal in the hammering of Celtic.

But speculation around his future has continued with a number of foreign clubs thought to be interested in his services.

Genoa were said to be “very close” in their attempts to take Hagi to Italy, while Borussia Monchengladbach were also named as in interested party.

Another possible destination for Hagi was thought to be a return to Fiorentina. But, in a boost for Rangers, they now look set to sign Napoli’s Michael Folorunsho on loan with an obligation to buy.

Iqraam Rayners latest

Rangers could face a battle from Belgian side Sportkring Beveren to land South African striker Iqraam Rayners.

Reports in the African nation previously had Gers prepared to pay the £2.4m to prise the striker away from Mamelodi Sundowns in his homeland.

The Belgian side are now reportedly interested but the Ibrox men would be seen as favourites due to their ability to outspend Beveren.

Croatian duo

Rangers were linked to a second Croatian midfielder in recent days, NK Varazdin's Leon Belcar.

We had previously exclusively revealed their interest in Marko Soldo from NK Osijek.

However, that one could have hit a potential roadblock with reports in Croatia suggesting his club could look to hang on until the summer before selling, their hand strengthened by the fact he is contracted until 2027.

Ben Godfrey

Previously linked to Rangers, Ben Godfrey is set to leave Atalanta.

A move to Ibrox may seem ambitious but there were strong links previously and Gers are targeting the centre-back area in January due to injuries.

Nathan Patterson/Adam Devine

Rumours have been circulating about a potential loan return for Nathan Patterson as he remains out of favour at Everton and Rangers need bodies in defence.

But Sean Dyche appeared to pour cold water on it by suggesting he’s not prepared to let anyone leave this month.

He said: “At the end of the day, our situation here is that we certainly will not be letting anyone go unless we need to.

"Unless, of course, we can swap and change. We want to keep the squad, we have had injuries and been very stretched. We are certainly not looking to have players going out.”

Fellow right-back Adam Devine could create more space for an incoming after being told he can leave the club.

And West Brom are now apparently interested.
