Fabrizio Romano in £8.5m transfer claim that gives Rangers Cyriel Dessers question

Rangers are in the process of trying to move players out who have been deemed surplus to requirements and not finding it easy.
Rabbi Matondo's proposed move to Coventry City fell through and speculation linking Cyriel Dessers with a transfer hasn't turned into anything concrete.
Before Philippe Clement can add any players to his squad, there will need to be movement, and the Rangers manager must be jealous about a deal happening across the city.
Celtic transfer report should give Rangers hope for Cyriel Dessers
Selling Dessers would free up enough money to potentially bring in two or three players.
His position as third choice striker, but one of the highest earners, is a problem that can only be fixed one way.
If ever evidence was needed of the difference that winning trophies can make, it is Kyogo Furuhashi's reported £8.5m move to Rennes being reported by Fabrizio Romano.
Heading in the opposite direction is Jota for a similar fee, the sort of fee that Rangers have been told they would need to pay for Vaclav Cerny.
The question is, why aren't Rangers looking to sell Dessers for a similar fee given that he is a month younger, has scored more goals and contributed more assists since joining Rangers?
His high profile goal against Man Utd is the perfect example of what he is capable of when he is at his best.
Why are Rangers struggling to sell Dessers?
In terms of percentages, Dessers has a goal/assist rate of 60% and Kyogo is 63% whose most productive time in Scotland was in his first two seasons.
The Rangers No.9 is also never injured.
Nils Koppen's biggest problem just now is that clubs know Rangers are trying to clear the decks, the five players who left for £800,000 in the summer says it all.
Add the gap in the Scottish Premiership, Celtic playing Champions League football and their track record of selling to top five leagues and the picture becomes clearer.
Finally, there is the eye test. Despite missing more big chances than any other player in the league, Kyogo passes it with flying colours, Dessers scored a hat-trick and the first question he faced was about an open goal he missed.
Until Rangers as a team are successful, Rangers players will never be as valuable as those leaving Glasgow with a full medal cabinet.
