Furious Kris Boyd left astonished by moment in Rangers v Celtic as he quotes Peter Lawwell

Kris Boyd has unleashed on the VAR team for failing to award Rangers a penalty in extra time of a penalty kicks defeat to Old Firm rivals Celtic.
Rangers manager Philippe Clement has urged journalists to investigate why Celtic once again got the rub of the green when VAR failed to intervene in the first period of extra time.
Vaclav Cerny had been hauled down by Celtic defender Liam Scales with John Beaton giving the Parkhead defender a yellow card and awarding Rangers a free kick.
But replays show that the foul took place inside the box and now Rangers are demanding answers as to why Alan Muir and Frank Connor failed to intervene.
Speaking on SunSports' Go Ballistic show, Kris Boyd claims that there is 'no excuse' for failing to award the penalty as the debate around the defeat continues apace.
Kris Boyd says 'no excuse' over Rangers penalty call
"Everybody can see, even ones that wear green tinted glasses, that the pull is inside the box," said Boyd.
"It goes in the box and the penalty should be given. It doesn't matter when you start pulling the shirt it's when you let go.
"The player is in the box when the Celtic player lets go of the shirt, that is a penalty kick, there is no getting away from it.
"People can have a go at John Beaton, I thought he refereed the game really well yesterday.
"From where he was he thought it was a foul and brought it back for the initial contact. The issue here is that VAR has let John Beaton down.
"Alan Muir is the VAR, Frank Connor is the assistant VAR, what were they doing? Seriously, what were they doing?
"You go back to the old days there were decisions that both teams could feel aggrieved with over the years, but there's really no excuse any more.
"Plain and simple. Because you've got the video there, you can look at it, and if one person misses it, the other person can see it.
"There's no reason for them to miss this.
"People are saying call (John Beaton) over to the monitor to have a look. He doesn't even need to be called over to the monitor, it's a clear penalty kick.
"All the VAR needs to turn around and say is, 'it's black and white, it's a penalty kick, we're overruling that, it's a penalty kick, the pull of the shirt finishes inside the box'."
Rangers must 'get to the bottom' of Celtic decisions
Kris Boyd has also been urging former side Rangers to get to the bottom of why Celtic continue to get advantageous decisions in Old Firm derbies.
There's a sentiment amongst Rangers supporters that VAR is being used almost exclusively to find ways to protect Celtic such is the pressure from the Parkhead hierarchy.
Big calls routinely go in the favour of our Old Firm rivals with the help of the technology whilst Rangers continue to draw the short straw.
It's a situation which has already drawn the attention of incoming CEO Patrick Stewart, who has demanded a meeting with the SFA over the decision.
This is something Kris Boyd endorses, as the Rangers striker questions Celtic's control of the narrative surrounding referees and of their manipulation of the country's whistlers.
"If I am Patrick Stewart or Fraser Thornton the first thing I am doing is demanding a meeting," said Boyd.
"Demanding a meeting with the SFA, with Willie Collum, and Ian Maxwell as well.
"I know it's the League Cup, it's the League's competition, but it's the SFA that provide the match officials.
"I would want to get to the bottom of why the VAR didn't intervene because it's not good enough.
"You go back a few months ago and it's a laugh and a joke about Rangers getting penalty kicks.
"Michael Nicholson, at the Celtic AGM, stood up and was asked about missing key VAR decision, what would the club do going forward?
"Those days have kind of turned. Peter Lawwell (joking) the last penalty kick that Rangers got given against them it was John Greig that gave it away.
"They've put the pressure on Celtic. They've asked the questions. It'll be interesting to see if there's anything said about that this morning.
"Rangers fans will be sitting here this morning (urging) Patrick Stewart to go and ask the question, sit down,
"Let's find out what's going on here because it's happening far too often now.
"If I'm Rangers I'm wanting to get to the bottom of this.
"Whenever (something happens) to Celtic there's an inquest, we've got to get to the bottom of this.
"Whenever Rangers seem to be questioning something, it's a laugh and a joke and it gets brushed under the carpet and there's nothing said.
"If I'm Rangers it's time to stand up and ask questions because you need to get to the bottom of this."
