Barry Ferguson has been quite fortunate since taking charge of Rangers in that injuries have improved, rather than worsened during his short tenure.

He is the first Rangers manager since Steven Gerrard not to inherit an injury list but it looks like the curse has finally caught up with him.

Vaclav Cerny scored a screamer for the Czech Republic, unfortunately, it would appear that he has done himself a mischief in the process.

With the team news for Dundee confirmed, there was one name conspicuous by its absence from the starting XI and from the Rangers squad.

Cerny is Rangers’ biggest difference maker in terms of when he scores goals, however, Ferguson will need to do without him against Dundee.

Barry Ferguson sees Vaclav Cerny added to Rangers injury list after international concerns

Looking at the comments from Ferguson's press conference, he might have already had an idea that his playmaker in chief was going to be missing for Rangers:

"I won’t know until tomorrow (Friday). There’s one, or stroke two, that are carrying slight knocks," the Gers boss said about those returning from international duty.

"As I said, they’ve never trained today. I’ll find out tomorrow. And if they don’t train tomorrow, obviously, they won’t be part of the travelling squad.

"So, I just need to wait and see how they wake up in the morning. They’ll come in, they’ll see the doctor and the physios, and then I’ll need to make a decision on that."

Rangers fans worry Cerny has felt long arm of law

"Is Cerny in jail," asked YouTuber CJ Novo in response to the 'Watergate' investigation that saw Brendan Rodgers lose his sense of humour.

Another confirming that there was “no Cerny, cos he's in the cells, sadly." "Cerny been lifted then," worried one.

David Ashcroft asked "Is Cerny filling up his super soaker?" With another confirming that "No Cerny? The suede garments are safe then." In response to a Celtic podcast that was concerned about those at Parkhead who may be partial to a bit of suede attire after Cerny's brutal attack.

Thankfully, Cerny hasn't been lifted or placed in jail, his hamstring is just a bit tight.
