Jim White names Celtic conqueror as Rangers boss who 'must be in conversation' for job

Jim White has had plenty of Rangers exclusive shouts down the years.
The Sky Sports veteran has his ear to the ground and has been vocal over the Ibrox manager situation since Philippe Clement was sacked and Barry Ferguson arrived as interim head coach.
White certainly has his contacts inside the corridors at the stadium but he has gone out on a limb this week in suggesting one boss must be in contention for the permanent role once the season comes to an end.

Jim White backs Barry Ferguson for permanent Rangers job
The 49ers group will have their own plans but White believes Ferguson must be in with a shout to land the job on a full-time basis due to some of the results he has guided the squad to since he arrived.
"Of late, a couple of head turning results, of course, winning at Celtic Park and putting Mourinho and Fenerbahce out of the Europa League,” White said on GO Radio when discussing Fergie.
"So yeah, I think he’s got to be in the conversation when the 49ers are deliberating as they will be now. I mean, they will be getting their ducks in the row at the moment as to who they want and how they’re going to go about it.
“I think Barry’s got to be a name in the frame. Of course he has. And he’s a fan’s favourite. But whatever that counts for at the end of the day remains to be seen.”
Ferguson has brought the fire back to the Rangers squad, it seems, which is more than can be said for Clement when he was here.
Former Rangers defender agrees with White about Ferguson
And it’s not just White who reckons the 47-year-old should be considered by the businessmen who will be in charge of putting the next gaffer in the dugout.
Former defender Craig Moore believes Ferguson is a competent pair of hands and his old teammate, Oz says, could be the man to do the job.
“I think spot on. Jim, like he says, I mean, all Barry could do was come in and try and do the best he absolutely could,” Moore added.
"And it was whether or not he could convince maybe the board through results, getting to the last eight and obviously the last win against Celtic. If he could finish the season in a positive way, it’s certainly going to give him a nice headache. That’s for sure."
