Marko Soldo Rangers January transfer hurdle as timeline laid out for Croatian's expected Osijek exit

Marko Soldo remains a Rangers transfer target as the Croatian considers his next move.
The combative Osijek midfielder is a serious talent and has clubs around Europe keen on his services.
We at Rangers News exclusively revealed that Gers were keen on Soldo as the 21-year-old fits the exact mould technical director Nils Koppen and manager Philippe Clement want in their signings.
He could be available for between €2-3million and sold down the line for significant profit.
But now a spanner has been chucked into the works as an update emerged from a Croatian news outlet.
Sportske claim that Soldo will not be allowed to leave his current club in the January market with Osijek in the midst of a battle in the HNL in fourth spot right now.
The same publication does suggest, however, that he may well depart the club in the summer as Rangers continue to monitor his progress.
At the time of writing the player has six goals and four assists in 24 appearances and he’s likely to add to those statistics by the time the end of their campaign rolls around.
Marko Soldo is more likely to leave Osijek in summer than January
He is contracted, still, until 2027 which is why Osijek do not need to sell in January and can wait and hold out for the next number of months to drum up what might turn into a bidding war.
One other club reported to be keeping an eye on the midfielder is his former side, Dinamo Zagreb, who sold him previously to Osijek for £400k just back in July.
Sportske again claim Dinamo may well return to the table for their old player as they had previously inserted a buy-back clause at a nominal £1m fee.
Rangers have been linked with a different Croatian midfielder
That could make a switch to Glasgow slightly more difficult for Rangers to pull off but never say never.
And if they are, indeed, unable to land Soldo, Gers are also interested in Leon Belcar – his countryman.
The Gers would face more difficulty in bringing Belcar in, too, with other clubs interested.
The likes of Club Brugge and AZ Alkmaar have been linked with the player who has made waves in Croatia.
