Nils Koppen watching on as Premiership star who wants Rangers move set to to rock up at Ibrox

Rangers technical director Nils Koppen has pledged that the Ibrox club will be keeping a closer eye on the top talents coming out of Scottish football.

In recent seasons, Rangers have seen the likes of Lewis Ferguson, Aaron Hickey and Josh Doig slip through their fingers, with Scotland's top young talent moving elsewhere in the hunt for glory.

Nils Koppen insists Rangers will look to sign one player from Scotland per season as the underachieving club looks to establish a homegrown spine in their squad.

And as Rangers prepare to welcome Dundee to Ibrox, one of the Scottish Premiership's top young talents and a potential Ibrox tap-in will hope to catch the eye of supporters.

Lyall Cameron set to face Rangers

Dundee playmaker Lyall Cameron is having quite the season at Dens Park as the 22-year-old develops into a crucial player for Tony Docherty's side.

Adding goals and assists from midfield, Cameron recently played his 100th game for Dundee and is turning heads with his contributions this season.

In the Scottish Premiership alone, Cameron has four goals and four assists this season, including a recent double against Motherwell.

In all competitions the midfielder has seven strikes and seven assists and it's an impressive return for a player who is surely on Rangers' radar heading into the rest of the season.

The situation is intensified by the fact that Lyall Cameron is out of contract in the summer and is yet to sign a new deal with Dundee.

The Scotland U21 international is a player to watch at Ibrox and let's see if Cameron can impress the likes of Rangers manager Philippe Clement in Glasgow.

Dundee midfielder has Ibrox 'wish'

Lyall Cameron has previously admitted that he would be very open to moving to Rangers.

Speaking after a clash at Ibrox in September, more than that Cameron admitted that it is his 'wish' to move to a team the calibre of Rangers.

It comes after former Dundee teammate Luke McCowan moved to Old Firm rivals Celtic in the summer after an impressive season at Dens Park last campaign.

"It is hard, to be honest, because I think Luke and I built a really good relationship in the middle of the pitch," Cameron said in September.

"We knew where each other was and obviously he came up with big moments and so did I.

"So I think we just got on really well and knew what the other person was going to do.

"Obviously losing him at that time of the season was tough, but I think we brought in some good players.

"Hopefully once they find their feet in the team and understand the league they'll do well.

"We've brought in a lot of boys who haven't really played in this league. You do need the experience of playing in the Premiership. I've played here a couple of years now.

"I know I'm only 21 but I'm one of the more experienced guys in the team.

"I think once everyone finds their feet and we start understanding each other I think we'll be OK.

"I'm really confident in my own abilities and I think I could play in a bigger team.

"Obviously when you come to places like Ibrox, you just wish you could get a move to a team like this.

"Obviously it would be huge for your career. So hopefully one day I can go on to do that."
