Patrick Stewart to address Rangers transfer business as Premier League target linked to Ibrox
Yesterday at 01:00 PM
Philippe Clement has been tight-lipped on Rangers' January transfer business and once again the Ibrox manager has shifted attentions to Patrick Stewart.
Speaking after the 3-3 draw with Hibs, Clement claimed Stewart would be addressing the press with regards Rangers' January transfer business.
But four days on and Rangers fans have had nothing but radio silence as a number of players are linked with a move to Ibrox.
Now, Philippe Clement was once again grilled on the club's January transfer plans and admitted that Patrick Stewart will be talking to supporters in the coming days.
It comes as Rangers are linked with a move for a 6ft2 defensive talent who has reportedly been turning heads in the Premier League.
Patrick Stewart to address Rangers fans
Despite Rangers being in dire need of new recruits, Philippe Clement has been unwilling to divulge any information with regards the club's January plans.
Once again tight-lipped when pressed on the situation – with Rangers' defence rocked by injury heading into a hectic winter schedule – Clement revealed Stewart will be speaking to fans in the coming days.
"Like I said last press conference Patrick will address that, what the plan is for the club for January," Clement said ahead of the trip to Dundee.
"So it will be in the next couple of days."
Rangers linked to Richard King
The situation has naturally raised eyebrows amongst Rangers supporters with Philippe Clement refusing to budge on the club's transfer dealings.
Whilst the Ibrox manager has admitted he would like defensive reinforcements, Rangers' financial situation has ensured the purse strings are particularly tight this January.
Despite that, a number of defenders have been linked to Rangers including the likes of Grant Hanley and Nikola Katic.
And now you can add the name Richard King to that list with the Jamaican international centre-back the latest name to be mentioned in dispatches.
The Daily Record have claimed that Rangers view the 23-year-old Reggae Boyz international as a talented young player with a high resale value.
Richard King currently plays for Jamaican Premier League champions Cavalier but has spent time in European football with Icelandic side IBV Vestmannaeyjar.
With watching eyes in the Premier League and the likes of Newcastle United, West Ham United, Brighton and Aston Villa all linked, the link to the 19-cap centre-back will certainly inspire Rangers fans more than some of the other names mentioned.
As a result, we're sure the club's supporters will be counting down the days until Patrick Stewart addresses the club's January transfer business.
