Rangers' transfer model still has a long way to go in terms of visible proof that it is working.

Nils Koppen has got a lot right, however, there are doubts about Robin Propper and Nedim Bajrami, the latter needing to do more too to justify his £3.5m transfer fee

After selling five players for £800,000 including Connor Goldson, Todd Cantwell and Sam Lammers, there are also questions about the technical director's ability to bring in transfer fees.

Another exodus is on the cards with players on big wages or those who have deemed surplus requirements set to walk out the Ibrox exit door.

One such player is likely to be Rabbi Matondo who, after sealing a January loan move to Hannover, is looking to get his career back on track.

Rabbio Matondo hints at Rangers exit after breaking Wales duck

After Matondo scored his first goal for Wales, the 24-year old flying machine explained why he took the decision to leave Rangers:

"It wasn't an easy decision at first but when Hannover showed me what they were planning in the future I thought, 'Why not? Go there and try to play my football'," as reported by BBC Sport

"It's been a long, hard season with injury at the start so coming back and trying to get minutes was very important.”

Since signing for Rangers, Matondo's time has been blighted by hamstring and knee injuries with intermittent periods of what might be but his comments are intriguing.

How much will it cost for Hannover to sign Matondo?

If Matondo was only going on loan for six-months, why does it matter what Hannover's plans for the future are?

With a £1m option to buy the 13-times capped winger, maybe the player already knows something that everyone else doesn't.

Rabbi Matondo’s statistics since signing for Rangers in 2022.

Under Philippe Clement, it looked like he had finally found the right Rangers manager to get the best out of him, only to break down again.

Matondo has only started two games in Bundesliga 2 after scoring a screamer on his debut for Hannover and will be looking for a consistent run of games after the international break.

On his day – see his two goals, and two assists against Ross County this season – he can be devastating, unfortunately for Rangers, his day didn't come often enough.
