Rangers manager Philippe Clement is gearing up for the January transfer window as the Ibrox side look to reinforce their squad.

The Belgian manager has been boosted by the news that Rangers have attracted over £8m in fresh investment from the club's shareholders.

How much of that will be allowed to be spent on new signings remains to be seen but Rangers have identified several positions they'd like to strengthen in January.

Amongst those is the central midfield, and now one young Northern Irishman with shades of a young Steven Davis has reportedly popped up on the club's radar.

Rangers build Isaac Price dossier

Rangers have reportedly begun to build a dossier on Northern Ireland midfielder Isaac Price as Standard Liege brace for January offers.

According to Belgian outlet Walfoot, Rangers and an unnamed English Championship side have requested information on the 21-year-old, who is impressing in the Pro League.

Ex-Everton talent Isaac Price moved to Standard Liege in the summer of 2023 and over the last 18 months has emerged as an influential player in Belgian football.

Contracted to Standard Liege in 2027, the Belgian side are already looking out replacements with Price expected to be the subject of offers in January.

Whilst Rangers are mentioned, it's important to note that Walfoot insist this is only 'the simple gathering of information' and is no guarantee of 'concrete' interest.

It's not the first time Rangers have been mentioned alongside Isaac Price either, with the Gers mentioned as suitors before Price moved to Belgium.

Northern Ireland star has 'real high quality'

Northern Ireland international Isaac Price may well be a name which interests Rangers fans who follow the Ulsterman's national team.

Coming through at Premier League outfit Everton, Isaac Price made the breakthrough at Goodison Park and made three appearances for the club, including two in the English top flight.

But having moved to Belgium, Northern Ireland fans are excited about the talent of the 21-year-old who has an impressive return of six goals in 18 international games.

This includes the stunning hat-trick that Isaac Price scored for Northern Ireland in the 5-0 UEFA Nations League hammering of Bulgaria at Windsor Park in October.

Speaking after that match and performance, Northern Ireland manager Michael O'Neill claims Isaac Price is a player of 'real high quality' who can only get better.

"Isaac is still a young player finding his position at club level," said O'Neill, as quoted by the Independent.

"There's things in his game I know he needs to improve and he knows that himself, but he has real high quality and he does demonstrate that.

"Yes we see his running power. But his finishes tonight, for him to be in the position to score takes a real willingness, he's covered the ground brilliantly for the first two goals and then the third goal is a bit special."
