Rangers complicate routine St Johnstone victory as fans send message to Philippe Clement

Rangers did enough to blow St Johnstone away in the first half as the club's Ultras section staged a walkout at Ibrox.
Rangers were completely dominant in the first period of the Scottish Premiership match at Ibrox, with the pre-match pre-amble surrounding Philippe Clement.
But whilst the 3-1 victory will be welcomed by supporters, a stuttering second half showing stands as a stark reminder of some of the issues at Ibrox.
The Union Bears sent a reminder of their own in the 55th minute when they walked out of Ibrox in protest against the club's management at every level over the last few seasons.
Rangers complicate routine St Johnstone victory
Rangers have closed the gap at the top of the Scottish Premiership to 15 points with a 3-1 victory over St Johnstone at Ibrox.
Form striker Hamza Igamane gave Rangers the lead in the clash after good work from Vaclav Cerny and Mohamed Diomande.
Both players would get on the scoresheet themselves too, with Cerny adding a second four minutes later after a through ball by Danilo.
Rangers then made it three when Mohamed Diomande reacted quickest to power home a header from inside the box after a shaky Jake Sanders defensive clearance.
With Rangers on easy street, St Johnstone caused some anxiety when they pulled one back just minutes before the planned 55th minute protest.
Jake Sanders would make amends by nodding home some encouragement from St Johnstone's first corner of the match.
Rangers spurned a number of opportunities to silence St Johnstone with the Perthshire team encouraged by that early second half goal and a threat throughout.
But the Gers would hold on to record a 3-1 victory and get Philippe Clement and his under fire squad back to winning ways.
Union Bears protest against Rangers form
Whilst Rangers have recorded a victory in the Scottish Premiership clash, fans reckon it's too little, too late with today's team on a hiding to nothing.
The pre-match build-up was dominated by questions surrounding Philippe Clement, who finds himself under fire after falling 15 points behind Celtic in the title race.
But it wasn't just the bungling Rangers manager who was the subject of vehement protests this week, with the club's underperforming squad and off-pitch management in the crosshairs of fans.
Rangers have reiterated their support of Philippe Clement but it did not stop supporters sending a firm message at Ibrox.
By way of a number of banners and an eventual walk-out in the 55th minute, it's a reminder to the Rangers hierarchy of the expectations at Ibrox.
The controversial walk-out was met with boos by some supporters in the ground and it's certainly not a sign of a happy camp at Ibrox.
Things have got to change and they've got to change quickly.
Rangers managed to turn a routine win over bottom of the table St Johnstone into something more complicated than it needed to be at times today.
The Rangers board better hope they don't overcomplicate the management of the Philippe Clement situation and general stink around the club either.
