In the bonkers world of Scottish football not much should surprise Rangers or Celtic fans.
There's always plenty to talk about when it comes to the Old Firm rivalry and earlier this year Kris Boyd added extra spice by suggesting Rangers should pinch one of Celtic's top performers.
Boyd reckons Rangers should consider Greg Taylor with the Scotland international's contract set to expire at Celtic Park come the end of the season.
Boyd isn't the only one either; Craig Moore tipped Rangers to try Taylor as the club looks to bolster it's squad ahead of the forthcoming campaign.
But whilst the recommendation hasn't gone down well in Rangers or Celtic circles, one Parkhead star reckons the full-back is literally Europe's best.
Rangers would be signing 'Europe's best' in Greg Taylor
Celtic captain Callum McGregor has told Rangers they'd be signing 'Europe's best inverted full-back' if they managed to pull off a swoop for Greg Taylor.
The Parkhead midfielder has also appealed for Taylor to sign a new contract at Parkhead despite the imminent arrival of Kieran Tierney in the summer.
"I've spoken about it a few times, and obviously I speak to Greg as well, I know how important he is and what he brings to the team," McGregor told STV Sport.
"There are very few players in Europe that I've seen who play that position (inverted full-back) better than him, and it gives the team a different dynamic as well.
"He gives everything for the club every single day, he's vocal in the dressing room and helps to drive the standards and takes responsibility.
"So I'd love nothing more than for the club to get him tied down (on a longer contract).
"He's been a huge part of our success, especially since we have started playing with an inverted full-back and, like I said, I don't think there is anyone else in Europe right now who is doing it better.
"He is a top player and I would love to see him stay at the club."
Greg Taylor a 'better player' than current Rangers options
Kris Boyd reckons Greg Taylor has 'proved' he's a better player than Rangers' current options Ridvan Yilmaz and Jefte.
Speaking to Sun Sport about the defender's situation at Parkhead, Boyd insists Taylor offers more than the Ibrox duo, both of whom have struggled at times in Glasgow.
"I think he's shown that for a period of time now," Boyd claimed when asked if Taylor is a better player than Jefte and Ridvan Yilmaz.
"There's no getting away from it. As a free contract, he might not sign it, but we know the way the world works now. You could ask the question."
