Lennon Miller is Scottish football's most in-demand asset and now Rangers could face Premier League competition for the Motherwell midfielder.

The 18-year-old has been a revelation at Fir Park ever since breaking though into the Steelmen's starting XI last season.

Taking even more responsibility this campaign, Lennon Miller has captained Motherwell on a number of occasions including the Premier Sports Cup semi-final v Rangers.

Such has been Miller's rapid rise, there is plenty of chatter about January interest from both Rangers and Old Firm rivals Celtic.

But now one report claims that the current Premier League leaders are also interested as Motherwell reportedly name their price for Lennon Miller this January.

Lennon Miller wanted by Premier League giants

Lennon Miller has been turning heads in the Scottish Premiership and now the Premier League too as the Scotland U21 international impresses this season.

Rangers have reportedly watched Miller throughout the campaign and now it is being claimed in the Daily Mail that a move for the teenager is 'expected' in January.

Old Firm rivals Celtic are also expected to step up their interest, with Motherwell setting a quite agreeable £4m fee for the teenage talent.

This would be £1m more than the club record £3m Motherwell received following the sale of David Turnbull to Celtic in 2020.

It's also substantially less than the £8m which ex-Rangers goalkeeper Cammy Bell rated Lennon Miller earlier in the week.

But should Rangers and Celtic genuinely step up their interest in Lennon Miller in January, the Mail report claims they will face stiff transfer competition from Premier League giants Liverpool.

Whilst interest from Newcastle United has been ruled out, the Reds could look to fast-track Miller to the Premier League with an eye-catching January swoop.

Motherwell calm over Rangers target's future

New Motherwell chairman Kyrk Macmillan has also been speaking about the future of Lennon Miller amid swirling transfer reports.

The youthful Well chief claims that the Steelmen will very much cross that bridge when it comes to it with Miller, who has been given a platform to go an impress in Lanarkshire.

Macmillan has also claimed that there has been no official 'conversation' over the transfer of Miller with Motherwell very relaxed with how the situation progresses.

"It is our model ultimately," said Macmillan. "The club has been successful has been successful with that in the past.

"In terms of moving on younger players and being able to bring strong revenue to the football club.

"But we'll see what happens (with Lennon Miller). There's no confirmed conversations as yet.

"But we will see what happens and we'll take the kind of appropriate conversations at that time."
