Rangers fans have been left stunned by the enigma that is Cyriel Dessers following the striker's late heroics against Dundee.

Dessers was the hero and villain at Dens Park after spurning a host of clear-cut opportunities before popping up with a last-minute winner to cap another stunning Rangers comeback.

Cyriel Dessers had no more than 11 shots on goal against Dundee but there was only one which ultimately mattered most as the Ibrox hitman trickled the ball over the outrushing Trevor Carson.

But despite Dessers' heroics, Rangers fans have still be left scratching their heads at full-time after the hitman's performance in the 4-3 Scottish Premiership comeback victory left the club's fans a little bamboozled.

And on the striker's landmark 100th appearance for Rangers no less.

Rangers fans react to Cyriel Dessers 'phenomenon'

Rangers fans have taken to social media platform X to react to Cyriel Dessers' contradictory performance against Dundee in the Scottish Premiership.

There was a mixture of the hilarious and the speechless as the Rangers hitman proved the difference-maker despite fluffing his lines time and again at Dens Park.

One thing that cannot be levelled at Dessers is a lack of effort, with the big man always fronting up his responsibilities even if things don't always go his way.

One fan claims the clash with Dundee was the 'perfect encapsulation' of Cyriel Dessers, with missed chances and a late winner summing the hitman up.

But the supporter hailed Dessers' resilience, claiming the striker 'ran himself into the ground' on behalf of the team at Dens Park.

One fan said 'well done Dessers' and hailed the striker for stepping up amid the 'abuse' from his own fans for his spurned opportunities.

But one fan perhaps best summed the hitman up with chances fewer and further to come by when up against better opposition.

Cyriel Dessers warns Rangers 'have to learn'

Cyriel Dessers has been reacting to his performance against Dundee with Sky Sports in the aftermath of the late Rangers victory at Dens Park.

Rangers came back from two goals down to win the game 4-3 after falling 2-0 down within 19 minutes and 3-1 down midway through the second half.

The hitman acknowledges that there were missed opportunities in the match and sent a warning to his teammates for not 'making it easy' for themselves.

"We can never make it easy for ourselves," Dessers said.

"That's something that we need to learn. If you want to compete to win league titles, to go far in Europe, you need to give the first punch then play out the game.

"Hopefully towards the end you can save some energy. Too often we have to go until the last minute and that's not necessary.

"In a season like at Rangers where you play 65 games you need all the energy and if you have to 65 times until the end full power that hurts.

"That's something we need to learn. We need to be more mature, start better, give the first punch and then that will make our lives a lot easier."
