Rangers have seen numerous names linked already this summer, some more fanciful than others as Philippe Clement prepares to take on the Champions League qualifiers.

The manager knows that his squad isn't in great shape and with Nils Koppen leading the recruitment process, the Gers boss at least has some help to get the job done.

New names have emerged, however, there are also a few familiar faces with one player who was first linked when Giovanni van Bronckhorst returning to Rangers attention, according to Soccernet.

The Nigerian sports media outlet has claimed that Rangers are back in the hunt for someone who has excelled since changing position and who is a current teammate of former Ibrox star Ryan Kent.

Rangers linked with Bright Osayi-Samuel again

Rangers hoped to sign Bright Osayi-Samuel on a pre-contract agreement two seasons ago, but it now appears as though he is back on the market with his Fenerbache future uncertain.

A converted winger, Osayi-Samuel has been the subject of speculation in the past with the player himself explaining where he sees his future:

"The plan for me right now is just to wait and see," Osayi-Samuel told Football Live.

"Everyone in Turkey knows that my ambition is to play in the Premier League one day. And if it's right this summer, then hopefully I will get the right club.

"But, that's down to my agent and my father who are discussing with the clubs, that's all I can say for now."

The dream move didn't happen at the time even after a former Turkey international said he “could play for Real Madrid or Barcelona“, but it now looks like he could finally get his chance with both Southampton and Wolverhampton Wanderers interested in signing the 26-year old.

Can Rangers land a bargain in Osayi-Samuel

Osayi-Samuel would command a transfer fee, his value at QPR was as high as £5m at one point.

Fenerbahce on the other hand appear to be happy to let the right-back leave for considerably less with a 'bargain fee' quoted by journalist Alan Nixon.

The obvious elephant in the room is James Tavernier, not only that, but Dujon Sterling is also a formidable force even if Rangers fans have rarely seen him in his preferred position.

For Rangers, full-backs need to be able to play in the final third and contribute to attacks and, as a former winger with plenty of pace and athleticism, Osayi-Samuel ticks a lot of boxes.

Should the skipper's proposed move to Saudi Arabia come to fruition, there could well be a move for Fenerbache's utility man.

With Philippe Clement needing quality on the right wing, it wouldn't be a bad idea to bring Osayi-Samuel in anyway.
