Philippe Clement has been giving an instant reaction to RangersTV following the Scottish Premiership draw with Dundee United.

The sombre Rangers manager was answering questions following yet more dropped points in the 1-1 draw with the Arabs at Ibrox.

Despite an improved second-half performance, Rangers struggled to create enough chances to turn the game around with Vaclav Cerny scoring a second half equaliser to rescue a point.

Now, Philippe Clement has been facing the music as he gave an instant reaction to the official Rangers media team following the Scottish Premiership draw.

In something of a desperate indirect plea to frustrated supporters as pressure mounts on his job, Clement pointed to last season where this was the type of game his team would've won.

'Last season Rangers would've beat Dundee United'

"It's very frustrating of course losing points, firstly," said Clement. "We need to reward ourselves and we need to play like we played second half 90 minutes long.

"Like that you strangle teams again like we did in the past and that's the football I want to see.

"I cannot say anything about commitment in the second half and the team pushed until the last second to score this goal and the goalkeeper made some excellent saves.

"The team was not rewarded in that way. It's not a game that you need to lose points but we did and we need to play 90 minutes like we played in the second half then we will take much more points than we did until now.

"I think the impact of Danilo and Ianis (Hagi) was important in (the second half), and the rest of the team also stepping up.

"(At half time we urged the players) to be more brave, to dare more, to use more the spaces that were there, to believe more in ourselves, in the team and what they had to do and to step up in the tempo that we had to play against the man marking of Dundee United.

"But it's frustrating to lose points in a game where you get one ball on target that's a goal and you play a second half like that, so it's very frustrating to lose points like that.

"Last season we won these games and now you lose points so we need to get back to that level of before and to reward ourselves in these kind of games."

Philippe Clement 'couldn't ask much more of Rangers'

"The players fought until the end," said Clement. "We had the domination we pushed them back on their 16, we had really good opportunities.

"We scored goals, was just offside, the goalkeeper made a few really good saves. You cannot ask much more, only to score this second goal and then you have a totally different feeling after this game of course.

"We cannot concede goals like we conceded the goal. It's bad defending and it's things that we've been working on the last weeks that cannot be repeated coming back."
