Rangers set to strike deal in move described as 'transfer that shook Europe'
Rangers have made their first signing of the January window and it looks like there may be outgoings soon.
Cyriel Dessers, despite starting today’s cup game against Fraserburgh, could soon be off and the Gers number nine has been made the top target of Cagliari.
He has also been interesting Saint-Ettienne, Atlanta United and Empoli.
Rabbi Matondo and Kieran Dowell have been told they can leave Ibrox, with clubs in England and Italy queuing up for the former.
And most recently, a potential exit for Tom Lawrence has come to light with Besiktas interested in signing the midfielder.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has just taken over at the Turks and worked with Lawrence at Manchester United, Fabrizio Romano now reporting he is keen on a reunion.
Tom Lawrence Rangers exit gets strange billing
Lawrence is out of contract in the summer and the report from Romano suggested Besiktas had shown an “initial interest.”
The 31-year-old has struggled with injuries and will find it hard to get back into the Rangers team, so it would make sense for all parties.
Turkish outlet Superhaber have now reported on the deal and say Lawrence WILL be come Solskjaer’s first signing, with the deal being finalised.
They go on to bizarrely claim that it is a move that has “caused a great stir in European football” and further describe it as the “transfer that shook Europe.”
Phillipe Clement on Rangers exits
When asked about departures recently, Clement said: "I never speak about individual cases and names in that way. It's always in the transfer window.
"It's about the right price for every player. It needs to be a win-win for everybody. We will see what's going to happen next week."
