Rangers transfer example that could see Nils Koppen make move for Mbappe 2.0 - opinion

A true assessment of Rangers summer transfer window can't really be made until the end of the season.
For Philippe Clement, many of the problems that the manager currently faces are being caused by players he inherited in the squad when he first arrived.
Nils Koppen has been promoted to technical director, but the work that he put into Rangers recruitment department should see previous targets still be considered.
Why Rangers might make January return for Adama Traore
One such player is 60-cap Mali international Adama Traore who was reportedly the subject of interest in the summer and has three goal contributions in his last four games.
At one point, Rangers were said to be at an "advanced stage" of talks for the Kylian Mbappe-esque flyer, however, nothing materialised.
In January, Traore will be free to speak to other clubs and Koppen should be picking up the phone again for the flying machine with seven goals in 23 appearances.
The Gers transfer chief has already shown that he can be patient when a failed bid for Jefte in January last season ended with a summer move.
What Koppen said about shopping in new transfer markets
What Koppen has also spoken about recently, is shopping in transfer markets that maybe aren't as obvious:
"It's important to look all over the globe about where we can compete financially without losing the focus on Scotland and the local market," said Koppen.
"To look worldwide gives us more opportunities to sign these talents, and I think football is going fast. The UK market is getting more difficult for us financially, so we have to think outside the box and get creative.
"But also, we have to look at profiles – even Brazil or Morocco – that is more suitable. It's about looking in the different market but finding suitable profiles."
Vaclav Cerny has shown what a winger who brings numbers to a forward line can do and Traore would offer balance on the other side and reduce the pressure on Oscar Cortes.
The Hugarian market isn't one that is known for exorbitant transfer fees either so a problem position could be easily fixed without breaking the bank.
