Your January 21 transfer window update. Rangers News has updates on Rafael Fernandes, Tom Lawrence, Sasa Zdjelar, Neraysho Kasanwirjo, Isaac Price, Lyall Cameron and Lennon Miller.
Fernandes Rangers wait
Central defender Rafael Fernandes has been Rangers‘ only signing so far, coming in on loan from Lille, but Philippe Clement has explained why fans will have a wait before seeing him in the flesh.
Clement said: "I'm very happy. We believe in his potential.
"He's not somebody who will be directly ready. He played almost nothing in the last year.
"But the scouting team saw him play the year before in Portugal. I saw also several games of that.
"He's showing several attributes. He's fast, he can do good passing, he's powerful, he's young and athletic.
"We get good information in Lille also with players who were training with him."
Tom Lawrence latest
Tom Lawrence looks set to leave Ibrox in this window with a number of clubs interested in the midfielder.
Premier League Ipswich are the latest said to be monitoring Lawrence, their name added to the list alongside Besiktas, Sheffield United and Burnley.
Lowry on way out
Alex Lowry looks poised to finally leave Rangers permanently with a move to League One Wycombe close.
A move for Wallsall's Jamie Jellis fell short from the Championship promotion chasers so they are turning to Lowry.
Gers could get Sasa Zdjelar bargain
Rangers have already been linked with Serbian midfielder Sada Zdjelar, and it has now been suggested the interest is genuine.
CSKA Moscow are said to be happy to let him move on and could accept a nominal fee this month to avoid losing him for nothing.
Football Insider’s Pete O'Rourke said: "It will increase the chances of maybe landing Zdjelar.
"CSKA Moscow are open to letting him leave. They'd rather cash in on him now, whether that's for a nominal fee rather than allowing him to run down his contract.
"He's probably a bit more of a defensive midfielder than previous players that have been linked to Rangers in this January transfer window.
"But it just shows where Rangers are shopping right now.
"They're shopping for players coming to the end of their contracts, players that they can maybe sign for bargain fees.
"They're looking at these unknown quantities like Zdjelar that not many people know much about.
"It would be a bit of a gamble to bring him in but you might find a few hidden gems if you do sign some of these players.
"Unfortunately for Rangers they're having to shop at this lower end of the market and look for players who're coming to the end of their contracts because they know they can land them for cheap fees."
Kasanwirjo update
Neraysho Kasanwirjo showed promise in his early Rangers days before injury cruelly struck and sent him back to Feyenoord.
Rangers are said to still be interested in signing Kasanwirjo permanently despite that.
But Ibrox chiefs are due to meet their Dutch counterparts to officially cancel the loan for now, which could free them up to loan Luka Ivanusec to Dinamo
Price England-bound
Rangers were reportedly looking at midfielder Isaac Price in this window and had requested a dossier on the Standard Liege star.
But those links were played down and Northern Ireland international Price now looks set to head to England.
He must choose between Preston North End and West Brom who are both looking to land him for just over £2million.
Cameron blow
O’Rourke had also listed Dundee’s Lyall Cameron as someone Rangers were keeping close tabs on.
But the midfielder played in the Dee’s Scottish Cup derby win over United last night, meaning Cameron would be cup-tied should he end up at Rangers in January.
Rangers-linked Miller bid rejected
Rangers have been given an idea of a Lennon Miller fee they would have to pay should they make an attempt to prise the midfielder from Motherwell.
That’s because Udinese offered £2.5m but saw it instantly knocked back as the Steelmen hold out for closer to £4m.
Katic branded ‘picky’
A sensational Ibrox return for Niko Katic has been mooted with the player said to be very keen on a move back to Glasgow.
His club, FC Zurich, appear resigned to losing the defender but their manager has claimed Katic is “picky” over where he ends up.
Ricardo Moniz said: "He is very picky. He has one drawback, his time is running out, and he doesn't train."
